Recipe of Homemade Chef Zee's Ropa Vieja (shredded beef)
Hi everyone, I'm Drew, welcome to my recipe page. Today I will show you how to make a special dish, Chef G's favorite Ropa Vija (shredded meat) recipe. One of my favorites. This time I'm going to make it a little special. It smells and looks delicious.
Let's face it, cooking is not a priority in the lives of every man, woman or child on the planet. In fact, many people have given up cooking as an important part of their lives. This means that people often eat a mixture of prepared foods and canned foods instead of spending time and effort preparing healthy meals for the family and our personal enjoyment.
Nutritious cooking can be difficult because most people don't want to spend time preparing and planning meals that our families won't eat. At the same time, we want to keep our families healthy, so we feel compelled to find new and improved ways to prepare healthy meals that our families will love (and, sadly, in some cases, hate).
Many argue that eating healthy food costs more than producing healthy food with calories and additives. Frankly, when you compare the costs to long-term medical bills, if you don't cover them, they seem relatively low. Yes, good food costs more. In many cases this is a very common occurrence in everyday life. However, by learning to control your portions and eating the right portions, you can spend less and get the right amounts of food you need to maintain a balanced and active lifestyle.
Many things affect the taste quality of Chef G's Ropa Vija, starting with the type of ingredients, then the selection of fresh ingredients, the mastery of preparing and serving the food. If you want to make Chef G's delicious Ropa Vija at home, don't worry, because if you know the technique, this dish can serve as an extra gift.
To get started with this particular recipe, we need to prepare a few ingredients. You can make Chef G's Old Clothes using 25 ingredients and 4 steps. This is how you prepare it.

- Cut the breast into medium pieces and put it in a bowl. Season the meat with black pepper, cumin, ground oregano, saxon, adobo, Chinese sauce (reduced sodium soy sauce), onion and ground pepper, fresh lemon juice, garlic puree, and olive oil. Mix everything until the meat is well covered with the sauce. Let marinate for at least an hour or overnight.
- Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat. When the oil is hot, add the brisket. Brown the breast for 5-10 minutes on each side.
- Add enough water to completely cover the meat in the pot; be sure to add water to the mixing bowl to absorb all of the marinade, then add the meat. Add the bay leaves. Cook meat for 2-3 hours until tender. Add water everywhere as needed. When tender, remove meat from braising liquid. Prick the meat with a fork, tongs or your hands. Put the ground beef in a large bowl. Stop skimming and get rid of excess fat. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the minced meat and cook for about 5 minutes.
- Add the braising liquid and cook for 2 minutes. Add tomato paste and mix until blended. Cook for 5 minutes. Add the dry white wine and cook for 2 minutes. Add minced garlic, onion, pepper, vinegar, cilantro, and olives. Stir until well mixed. Add the red wine vinegar. Cook the onions until they reach the desired doneness.
